HURRICANE HARVEY: USE YOUR GIFTS TO GIVE HOPE

Follow your dreams and use your natural-born talents and skills to make this a better world for tomorrow.
— Paul Watson

I recently heard it said, “What if you woke up tomorrow with only the things you thanked God for today?”  If that were the case, how much would you have when you woke up?

We sometimes take for granted the roof over our head, food to eat, clothes to wear, good health, a safe environment, and so on.   Right now in Texas, millions are praying for the blessings we take for granted.

Hurricane Harvey could be the costliest natural disaster in U.S. history with a potential price tag of $160 billion, according to a preliminary estimate from private weather firm AccuWeather.  This is equal to the combined cost of Hurricanes Katrina and Sandy, and represents a 0.8% economic hit to the gross national product, AccuWeather said.

“Parts of Houston, the United States' fourth largest city, will be uninhabitable for weeks and possibly months due to water damage, mold, disease-ridden water and all that will follow this 1,000-year flood,” said AccuWeather president Joel Myers.

As a small way to encourage people from across America and around the world to support the incredible residents and their pets in the great state of Texas after Hurricane Harvey, I am giving a free digital copy of my release, "Wake Me When It's Over" to everyone that donates $10 or more to any organization that is helping the victims during this difficult time.

I have a lot to be thankful for when it comes to Texas by way of friends, family, and fans - through good times and bad.  If I can use my gifts and talents to help out in some small way I am honored to do so.  And if my actions help inspire someone else out there to do the same, in their own special way than that is even better.

My wish is that by reading these words some are inspired to make a donation to a worthy cause that is helping those in need get through these difficult times and regain their sense of hope.  Perhaps some will take it a step further by rallying their entire family or community to help people and their pets that may be across town, across the country or halfway around the world.  Individuals and families that you may never meet but ones who know their prayers have been answered because of you.
