Entertainer Scott Helmer to Launch 'Never Give Up' Tour in 2016

Helmer’s 2016 tour will support the people and places that make America great and set a new world record

Phoenix, Ariz. – Independent touring and recording artist Scott Helmer, who has opened for iconic acts such as Heart, Eddie Money, 3 Doors Down, Jeff Bridges, Eric Burdon & The Animals, and Big Country, is closing in on the wrap-up of his hugely successful Support YOUR Cause tour 2014-2015 with his final performance scheduled at the historic Calumet Theatre on February 14. True to his tireless nature, however, Helmer is already making plans for his next tour: The Never Give Up Tour 2016  will continue to help good causes across America raise funds and awareness for their important work.

The Support YOUR Cause tour surpassed its $1,000,000 goal of funds raised for such great causes as military veterans and their families, equine and pet rescues, food banks, non-profit theatres, special needs children and adults, high schools and colleges, and many more. His next effort, the Never Give Up Tour 2016 will launch on April 20, 2016, and good causes and non-profits across the country can sign up to be considered to participate in raising funds and awareness for their causes by clicking hereParticipating causes keep 100% of proceeds raised during their events with Helmer.

Helmer's Support YOUR Cause tour also included an attempt to set a new Guinness World Record for Most Live Concerts in 24 Hours, a record currently held by Hunter Hayes. Helmer tied the world record with 10 concerts, but was unable to beat it. “It was a complex effort, and unforeseen logistical boundaries got in the way,” Helmer noted, “But I’m excited to make it happen in 2016! A lot of amazing people worked really hard on the event, from the venues and their staff to all the people who came out to attend each concert. I am deeply grateful to each and every one of them."  Helmer adds.

It’s hard to imagine a person like Helmer would ever put a gun in his mouth to commit suicide, but he did exactly that during his darkest hour in 2008. “Everything I’m doing now goes back to that moment where I was one second away from pulling the trigger,” says Helmer. "I had to make those dark times in my life mean something and using my music to give back is the best way I know how."

After making a huge mistake back in 2008 that cost him his livelihood and his family, Helmer hit the reset button on his life to focus on three simple things: Creating music, performing music, and helping others, which is why he’s also an enthusiastic volunteer for Musicians On Call. Helmer notes, “If I can come back from the brink, anyone can. I hope my story inspires others to never give up.”  His 2016 tour is built on that theme and promises to be even bigger and better than his current tour. Each solo-acoustic performance will feature rock and country favorites along with Helmer’s own material and a few added surprises.
