Scott Helmer Sets New Guinness World Records Title
New world record for "Most Live Music Performances in 24 Hours (multiple cities)" set while raising money and awareness for causes close to Helmer’s heart, including suicide prevention
Scott Helmer has officially set the Guinness World Records title for the “Most Live Music Performances in 24 Hours (multiple cities).” On November 28 and 29, 2016, during his ‘Never Give Up’ Tour, Scott completed 12 concerts across California and Arizona in just 24 hours, successfully establishing the new world record while raising funds for vital causes along the way.
But the world record wasn’t just about achieving a milestone. Each stop on the tour served a greater purpose—allowing participating venues to fundraise for causes close to Scott’s heart, including his personal connection to suicide prevention. From special needs children and adults to military veterans, suicide prevention, first responders, and equine-assisted therapy, these events raised significant funds to support those in need.
This accomplishment is part of Scott’s ongoing commitment to giving back. Since 2012, his fundraising concerts have helped raise over $3 million for numerous causes, including food banks, pet rescues, and historic places. However, his journey toward this world record is deeply personal.
In 2008, as the world economy was spiraling out of control, Scott sat alone in his car on a deserted mountain road in Northern Arizona, a gun in his mouth, ready to end it all. Struggling with financial ruin and personal failures, he faced his lowest point. In that moment, he cried out to God for help, promising that if he were given a second chance, he would dedicate his life to helping others.
Instead of taking his life, Scott put the gun down and made a vow to never give up. He picked up his guitar and began his mission: using his music and message to inspire others to find hope, no matter their circumstances. Establishing this world record is a powerful symbol of Scott’s resilience and unwavering commitment to helping others.
“This world record is about so much more than breaking a title,” says Scott Helmer. “It’s about showing people that no matter how low you get, there is always hope. You can always rise again. Music is the tool I use to share that message.”
Tom Barnard, National Radio Hall of Fame broadcaster, shares, “Everyone must hear Scott Helmer’s music and story. His resilience and dedication to making a difference are truly inspiring.”
Scott’s journey continues as he breaks barriers, raises funds, and spreads a message of redemption, hope, and never giving up. To learn more, listen to music, and see upcoming tour dates, visit his website.
